Why Parent Email Was Created
Students receive a district-issued account the day they enroll. Teachers and staff receive one at hiring. Parents, meanwhile, are asked to supply whatever personal email address they happen to be using that year — an address the school has no way to verify and no way to keep current when it changes. Parent Email was created to close that gap by giving parents the same kind of durable, verified identity that every other participant in the K-12 system already has.
